Destroy local surfing traces When you
are on the internet, each page visited leaves traces on your computer:
Under history the addresses
of the internet pages last visited are stored, in the
cache the browsers store complete internet pages
on your hard disk, including all videos and images. The reason for this
activity is the accelerated access when you call these internet pages
again. But with that the private sphere and the protection of data was
not taken into consideration. Each person or each program with access
to your computer, hence is able, without any problem, to find out where
you have been on the internet. WINSWEEP
also cleans the index-files (index.dat) blocked by the Internet
Explorer immediately and completely, which are normally considered
undeletable, as long as the Internet Explorer is active. It is not
necessary to reboot the computer. Of course WINSWEEP also removes all
cookies (files which are stored on your computer by internet pages and
which could contain any information). But you can also determine that
cookies of particular pages should be retained.
Additionally the search list in KaZaa will be cleaned and
the list of files opened last in the file selection dialogues of the
system and in MS Office will be deleted. Also the list of files
opened last in Windows Media Player and in Real Player will be deleted.
WINSWEEP also reliably deletes the history of the Internet
Explorer, it deletes temporary files and empties the recycle bin. This
happens automatically with each login into the system. But you can also
activate the cleanup when the browser is closed. Additionally,
WINSWEEP contains a data shredder with which any files can be destroyed
without any trace and irrevocably. While
deleting local surfing traces WINSWEEP uses a multilevel security
process. First the file to be deleted will be encoded, then overwritten
several times and then finally deleted. That way a recovery of data
deleted is no longer possible. The deletion of local surfing traces also includes automatically the browsers of Firefox, Netscape, Mozilla and Opera, where those are installed. |
